Yangtze University (长江大学, website) is a comprehensive university with the largest scale and comprehensive disciplines among the universities in Hubei Province. It is a key university in Hubei Province and a “domestic first-class university construction university” in Hubei Province.
The university was approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2003 and was formed by the merger of the former Jianghan Petroleum Institute, Hubei Agricultural College, Jingzhou Normal University, and Hubei Medical Workers’ College.
The headquarters of the university is located in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, a historical and cultural city in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and has a Wuhan campus. Jingzhou has a long history and splendid culture. The university has a beautiful environment and pleasant scenery. It is a garden-style college in Hubei Province.
Yangtze University has 108 laboratories and experimental centers of various types at the national, provincial and ministerial levels, 316 practice bases inside and outside the school, and a total value of 690 million yuan in teaching and research equipment. The library has 4.3 million paper books, 1,581 journals, 1.42 million full-text e-books, and 66 Chinese and foreign databases. There are gymnasiums, comprehensive training halls, swimming pools, football, tennis and other venues, and various sports venues are fully equipped.
Yangtze University currently has 3,184 faculty members, 2,290 full-time teachers and 533 external teachers. Since the establishment of the university, the university has cultivated more than 400,000 specialized talents for the society. The university initiated the establishment of the “One Belt One Road” language service international talent training school-enterprise cooperation alliance, and joined the China-CEEC Association of Universities and 4 other universities. The University Alliance has successively established cooperative relations with 73 universities and institutions in the United States, Britain, Ireland, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Australia, Sri Lanka, Czech Republic and other countries and regions. The school cooperated with the Limerick Institute of Technology in Ireland to hold a civil engineering undergraduate education program, and established a joint laboratory of toxicology with the University of Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic, and the International Arid Area Agricultural Research Center in Egypt and the UBC University Pacific in Canada The Earthquake Engineering Joint Research Center and others have jointly established an international joint scientific research platform.
